In today’s entertainment news, we have updates on two male celebrities, Chung Jung-young and Uhm Tae-woong, who were both embroiled in scandals last month. Let’s take a look.
[Soundbite] Uhm Tae-woong(Actor (Sept. 1)) : “I will clarify everything during the police investigation.”
Actor Uhm Tae-woong was indicted last month for sexually assaulting a female worker at a massage parlor. But recent media reports say that police are now considering charging Uhm with soliciting a prostitute instead of sexual assault. Police have reportedly reached the decision based on the testimony of the massage parlor owner, and have sent the interim results of their investigation to prosecutors. But the actor’s representatives have denied the allegation saying they have yet to receive the results of the probe from the police. Meanwhile, singer Chung Jun-young has been acquitted of charges against him. The singer had to convene an emergency news conference regarding the accusation that he secretly taped his girlfriend’s body. The prosecutors investigating the case said that Chung’s girlfriend did not clearly state her refusal to be taped and that they have found no videos showing her body in the singer’s phone. Chung Jun-young had to suspend all his activities after the scandal broke out, but it remains to be seen if he will be able to make a quick comeback after his acquittal.
